Getting Started

Course material, assignments, and messages are available on the course website. Registered students with an active Michigan State University Net ID and a valid password should proceed directly to the Course Login and Site Navigation instructions. If you do not yet have a Net ID and password, please follow the instructions below to activate your MSU Network Account.

Activating Your Network Account

Your MSU Network Account provides access not only to the course website but also to an extensive range of other Electronic Resources that will assist you in your studies. Account activation is a simple process that takes only a few minutes, but to do so you will need both your PID (personal identification or student number) and PAN (personal access number). Every registered student should have received these in separate mailings from the Admissions Office. If you are a new student and have not received your PID and PAN or have lost your PAN, please call the Office of Admissions—(517) 355-8332. If you are an existing student and have not received your PID and PAN or have lost your PAN, please call the Office of the Registrar—(517) 355-3300. When you are ready, follow the detailed account activation instructions provided by MSU Academic Computing and Network Services

Course Login and Site Navigation

Students may access the course website by logging into MSU’s ANGEL system at https://angel.msu.edu/frameIndex.htm. Simply enter your MSU Net ID and password and click “Log On”. Once you are logged in, follow the link to “My Angel Courses” and from there to the “ Food and Agricultural Standards” page . Congratulations, you are now in the class

We strongly recommend that you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the layout of the course website, which may be unfamiliar to you. Note that along the top of each page there are context-sensitive links that provide you access to the course syllabus, lessons, and various tools, including the course messaging system and Angel Help. Be sure to take the time to explore these links so that you understand how to find your way around.
